Clean angles meet soft curves in French designer Ferréol Babin‘s sculptural series of lamps with a handblown glass globe atop a textured ceramic platform. Magma—named for the molten matter from which lava is formed—also appears to have also emerged from the earth's core with the base's variegated pattern from its "fat lava" glaze, with each piece uniquely reacting during the firing process.‎ A visual eye-catcher in any room, warm illumination highlights the curved glass shade in frosted or smoked tones, a visual counterpoint to the angular form below.
