Visionary designer and architect Mogens Lassen’s 1955 Saxe is a striking collapsible lounge chair with a solid-oak frame and a dramatic leather slung seat. Originally designed in 1955 for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Competition, nothing in the chair’s design was left to chance, with select versions available in natural, brown and black. Brass fittings at the back of the chair provide an iconoclastic twist typical of Lassen’s particularly characteristic genius.
