In a surface-mount version, Alien’s otherworldly dimpled shape is achieved by draping a slab of clay over a press mold. Conceived by Brooklyn lighting studio In Common With, the shade emits a phantom-like glow from behind like a halo on the wall. Each ceramic shade is handmade and may exhibit slight variations in form and material. The light is available in hardwire standard and ADA-compliant slim models for public passageways as well as a versatile plug-in.
