Bau down! Afteroom Chair, from Danish brand Menu enlarges on the function/form balance of the legendary Bauhaus design collective. After devising an initial 3-legged model, the designers at Stockholm-based Afteroom Studio arrived at the current version that utilizes 4 supporting legs for the powder-coated, steel-rod frame. Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei then continue the spare geometry with a center stem that supports the curved backrest. Though inspired by the past, they say they firmly face forward: "It's important never to look back. Unless it's for the purpose of finding very good references, of course."
