Migration is a modern take on the traditional oil lamp. Brandon Perhacs handcrafts each one individually, rendering the precision-machined stainless steel or brass and solid ash or walnut base in his downtown Los Angeles studio. A long-lasting fiberglass wick inside the borosilicate glass tube provides a magical flame (up to 6 hours per fill of smokeless paraffin lamp oil). "In the design process we would think of them in poetic terms,” observes Brandon, "sentient beings with fiery souls migrating in herds across the desert at night, their flames lighting the way as they travel.” Migration is ready for gift giving, packaged in a custom laser-cut box, also handmade in Perhacs Studio.
